Clinical All Blacks Convincingly Beat Uruguay To Qualify For Quarter-finals

 

The All Blacks dominated the first half and led 26-00 at the halftime break. The All Blacks scored an additional seven tries in the second half to beat Uruguay 66-00 and secure their place in the 2023 Rugby World Cup quarter-finals.

The domination of the All Blacks in the first half must be qualified. Uruguay "scored" two tries which were disallowed in the first half and played with their usual fire and pride. Unfortunately, the second half belonged to the All Blacks.

Damian McKenzie burst through several tackles to score the All Blacks' first try after twenty minutes of play to lead 07-00. Thereafter, tries were scored by Richie Mo'unga, Will Jordan and Cam Roigard to lead 26-00 at the halftime break.

Tries by Fletcher Newell, Leicester Fainga'anuku (2), Damian McKenzie, Will Jordan followed in the second half.
