The weekend's action kicked off in Durban when the Cell C Sharks hosted the Airlink Pumas at Hollywoodbets Kings Park in the 2022 Carling Currie Cup competition. The Airlink Pumas dominated from the first whistle and strangled all life from their hosts with a well structured and disciplined gameplan, to win 20-10 with relative ease.
