This week the Toyota Cheetahs travel to Kimberley to face the Suzuki Griquas on Friday at 15:00 (SA Time) in Round 9 of the Carling Currie Cup.
“From now on, we're looking at every game as a playoff game. Even this weekend against the Lions was a playoff game. But I think, firstly, we're focusing on ourselves, not focusing on the Griquas players. It's our mistakes that have put us in the position that we are. So, currently, there's a good vibe and positivity. So, just focusing on ourselves and obviously looking forward to the weekend.” Said Toyota Cheetah hooker, Corne Fourie. “The process stays the process. So, it's the most important part for us to get to the top four, get into the semi-finals, and get to the cup as a team.”
“We have a couple of players out due to injury. Siskone (Vumazonke) made a brilliant try-saving tackle against the Lions and if we didn't play him in the SA Cup, it would have been the first game. So, if we stick to the process and the things we want to achieve, all will eventually work out.” Said Frans Steyn, Director or Rugby.
Daniel Kasende will play in his 50th match for the Toyota Cheetahs on Friday.
The team was announced with some changes:
Cohen Jaspers moves from fullback to wing and Munier Hartzenberg to moves to number 13 to replace the injured Evardi Boshoff. Jeandrè Rudolph and Friedle Oliver returns from injury. Oupa Mohoje will provide cover on the bench. Michael Annies is back on reserve.
