During a recent discussion with Eugene Eloff (Loffie), we discussed the current situation regarding the problems at the Lions and ask him if it can be fixed before the start of the United Rugby Championship?
It was clear that Loffie does not agree with most of the Lions supporters who demand the immediate change of the coaching staff.
Loffie is adamant that the current coaching staff is good coaches, however, an experienced director of rugby is needed that can provide strong leadership and mentorship to these young coaches.
Loffie is excited about the talent at the Lions but feels that players from the Griquas and Pumas must be targeted for the United Rugby Championship.
The long and short of the current situation can not be fixed before the start of the URC and Lions supporters and management must be patient and make sure that the changes made must be good for Lions rugby in the long term.
