Boland Landbou To Take On The Best Of Ireland

Boland Landbou is one of the few schools that does not shy away from any challenge thrown at them. This top school's 2022 fixture list is once again one of the toughest in South Africa playing most of the top schools. A twist to their 2022 fixture list is a tour to Ireland late in March against some of the best schools in Ireland.

However, before they fly to Ireland they will face an exciting Outeniqua 1stXV as their season opener at Landbou's famous "Oesdag". Outeniqua is building towards their dream team for their Centenary festivities in 2023 and will provide an interesting challenge.

The Irish Tour is planned to take place over the period 24 March 2022 until 03 April 2022. More news will be made closer to their departure.

Durbanville is the first test for Boland Landbou after their return to South Africa and should give them enough match practise before they once again fly to Johannesburg.

Two days after Durbanville they will attend the St John's Easter Rugby Festival to play Noordheuwel, St Charles and Affies. Noordheuwel's 1stXV is going to be one of the surprises of Gauteng and will look to take advantage of a "tired" Boland Landbou. Easter Monday Landbou face Affies in what could well be the game of the festival.

Five days later SACS visit the farm. SACS may not be regarded as one of the "contenders" for 2022 but Boland Landbou always brings the best out of this proud institution.

A week later it is off to Kimberley where the mighty Grey College wait on the Saturday. Noord Kaap proved themselves to be extremely dangerous at the Wildeklawer will look to spoil Boland Landbou's mood on Monday.

If the Boland boys still manage to be awake, Drostdy HTS follows five days after Noord Kaap in Worcester.

The next two months the top schools in the Western Cape will be played weekend after weekend with Rondebosch, Paarl Boishaai and Paarl Gim said to be the toughest tests for 2022.

The season ends on 27 August 2022 when Oakdale visits Boland Landbou to try a wrestle the crown from Boland Lanbou who won the last interschool (26-23) between the two top rugby playing agricultural schools in South Africa in 2019 at Oakdale.

A madhouse season from March until the middle of May with no chance to regroup or recoup will test the preparation and depth of Boland Landbou. Thereafter the Western Cape season starts which is the toughest in South Africa.

A lot to ask from a school with only 330 boys? Not if you are from Boland Landbou who have 18 teams available on any given weekend.
