Despite a much-improved effort by the Blitzboks on the defence, they lost 00-17 to Ireland who showed a lot of patience on the attack.
A silly mistake by the Blitzboks from the kick-off led to an easy try for Ireland. Ireland was rewarded with a second try, following their patient attacks until the gap eventually opened up wide to extend their lead to 12-00. Ireland continued their dominance and scored their third try out wide to go into the second half, leading 17-00.
The second half was scoreless with Ireland's dominance securing them a 17-00 win.
