The Blitzboks scored an impressive 34-05 win against Canada in the opening day of the HDBC New Zealand Sevens hosted in New Zealand.
Shilton van Wyk was the star for the Blitzboks with his three tries in the opening match, one on each side of the halftime break was instrumental in the Blitzboks overpowering Canada.
Shilton van Wyk opened the score after two minutes of play with a great try, which was almost immediately replied to by Canad. Two further tries gave the Blitzboks a 19-05 lead at the halftime break.
Three unconverted tries followed in the second half to win 34-05, opening the HSBC New Zealand Sevens in a brilliant manner.
