Blitzboks Secure Place In Playoffs With Good Win Over Spain

 

The Blitzboks secured their place in the playoffs with a nervous 32-12 win over Spain at the Perth SVNS. The Blitzboks will play Argentina on Saturday 06:38 (SA Time) to decide the winner of Pool A.

Spain attacked from the kickoff and after 30 minutes of play Zain Davids was yellow carded which almost immediately to the underdogs scoring in the corner to open the scoring. The Blitzboks replied almost immediately when great work by Quewin Nortje put Ronald Brown in a gap to level the scores. Nortje scored a great try to edge them into a 14-07 lead, which was the halftime score.

Captain Selvyn Davids once again stepped his way to his first try of this match. Spain struck back with two minutes still to play to reduce the Blitzboks' lead to 21-14. Time ran out for Spain on the attack with the Blitzboks winning 21-14.
