Blitzboks Kept The Dream Alive Against Fiji

The Blitzboks kept their dream alive to win the HSBC Cape Town Sevens title for the first time since 2015 when they convincingly beat Fiji by 17-07 in their first match of day two.

It took Fiji one minute to create enough space out wide to score the first try of the match. A bit of brilliance led to the Blitzboks' first try. van Wyk collected his own grubber to stroll over his try, whereafter Muller du Plessis made it look easy to give the Blitzboks the lead for the first time of the match with 12-05, which was also the halftime score.

JC Pretorius forced his way over Fiji's tryline for the Blitzboks' third try, and with two minutes left on the clock the Blitzboks led 17-07, which was also the full-time score.
