South Africa drew in their last Pool B game against Ireland in Los Angeles with 19-19. In a thrilling game, South Africa trailed 7-21 before they scored the equaliser with only a minute to go.
South Africa ended first in Pool B with victories over Canada and Kenya and a 19-19 draw with Ireland in the last game of the pool, which meant the newly promoted Irish team qualify for the quarter-finals.
