The Blitzboks started the 2025 HSBC SVNS Perth tournament with a 24-19 win, having to fight back in the final three minutes of the match with two unanswered tries.
The Blitzboks had a perfect start to the tournament when Ricardo Duarttee and Quewin Nortje scored within the first three minutes to lead 12-00.
A yeow card against Impi Visser gave the USA the edge in the final four minutes of the match. Will Chevalier scored his first try when Visser was still off but scored his second try two minutes later to edge the Blitzboks 14-12 at the halftime break.
The USA started the second half the way they ended the first when Lucas Lacamp beat the Blitzboks out wide with pure pace to extend their lead to 19-12.
However, Selvyn Davids cut through the middle and ran seventy-odd meters to reduce the USA's lead to 19-12.
Ronald Brown added the fourth try for the Blitzboks to secure a 24-19 win.
