Blitzboks Clinical In Great Win Against Fiji 7’s

The Blitzboks faced Fiji 7's in torrential rain in Toulon and outplayed Fiji 7s 24-07 in a brilliant display of controlled sevens rugby.

Dewald Human scored his first try of the weekend to open the scoring for the Blitzboks in extremely wet conditions to lead 05-00. Fiji was yellow-carded for a high tackle on Human as he crossed Fidji's tryline.

A second yellow card to Fiji was clear proof of their ill-discipline, however, the Blitzboks could not benefit from the penalties until the final seconds when a Dewald Human crosskick was controlled with Mfundo Ndhlovu scoring the Blitzboks' second try to go into the second half leading 12-00.

Fidji opened their account early in the second half with a brilliant try following brilliant handling and interplay by Fiji.

Individual brilliance by Shilton van Wyk saw him score the Blitzboks' third try. Van Wyk chip-kicked the ball, toed it forward again and fell on the ball in the in-goal area of Fiji.

Ricardo Duarttee stepped passed several Fiji 7's defenders on his way to scoring the Blitzboks' fourth try to deservedly win 24-07.

The Blitzboks will face the USA 7s tomorrow at 13:49 in their final pool C match.
