Blitzboks Back To Winning Ways Against Japan 7s In London

 

The Blitzboks returned to winning ways when they beat a willing Japan 24-07. The Blitzboks will play the USA 7s or Spain 7s at 16h08 in the 9th-place final.

Japan 7's started the match controlling the ball, however, the Blitzboks used a turnover to attack resulting in Ronald Brown scoring the Blitzboks' first try after just two minutes of play. A second try a minute later by Impi Visser extended the Blitzboks' lead to 12-00.

Japan struck back in the fifth minute scoring a brilliant individual try by Taiga Ishida. Two minutes later Ronald Brown took a quick tap five meters from Japan 7s tryline to walk over for the Blitzboks' third try to go into the halftime break leading 17-07.

Christi Grobbelaar scored the Blitzboks' fourth try to extend their lead to 24-07 and three minutes left to play in the second half followed by a final try by Travis Ismaiel in the dying seconds.

The Blitzboks will play the USA 7s or Spain 7s at 16h08 in the 9th-place final
