The Blitzboks did the unthinkable and came back to win the HSBC's Los Angeles title in extra time with 29-24, after trailing 19-7 at halftime. The first half the Blitzboks made every possible mistake they could but came back in the second half and score four tries to the one of Fiji. Two of the tries was scored with only one and a half minute left of normal play.
A yellow card to Fiji in the final seconds of the game after a high tackle and the decision by the Blitzbokke to no attempt a kick at goal after the try by Branco du Preez with seconds left on the clock was the two moments that changed the outcome of the game.
The Blitzboks moved to only 4 points behind New Zealand on the log after New Zealand finished third in Los Angeles. The men's action now moves to Vancouver that will start on the 07th of March 2020.
