Autumn Nations Series – What Can We Expect From Scotland?

Gregor Townsend’s Scotland team will be hoping that they can build on the promising form they showed earlier this year as they head into the Autumn Nations Series with a new captain, Glasgow Warriors’ Sione Tuipulotu.

He’ll be joined in the squad by his brother Mosese, who moved to Edinburgh Rugby this season from the Australian side the Waratahs.

After over a year, Edinburgh Rugby’s Ali Price is back in Scotland's starting XV, as they take on Fiji at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Despite Edinburgh’s mixed start to the season, Price is given the spot over the 2024 BKT URC Champions & Glasgow Warriors duo of George Horne and Jamie Dobie. Head Coach Gregor Townsend backed his decision stating "We feel this year Ali's played really well when Edinburgh have gone well, the last two games in particular… We've gone for Ali because we believe he's in the best form right now. He looked really refreshed after having a summer off”

Scotland is a breadth with talent at scrum-half, with RC Toulon’s Ben White also a talented option at 9. He’ll be back in contention next week against South Africa as this test falls out of the international window.

Elsewhere in the squad, Tom Jordan looks to make his debut from the bench and new captain Sione Tuipulotu partners with his Glasgow teammate Huw Jones at centre.

Key players include the Investec Champions Cup winner Blair Kinghorn, Edinburgh's try-scoring machine Duhan van der Merwe and explosive power king Rory Darge.
