Argentina secured a 19-12 win over the Blitzboks in Vancouver, their fourth win in Vancouver and their first win over the Blitzboks in an HSBC SVNS Cup final.
It was all Argentina in the opening moments, and they scored the first try by Luciano Gonzalez to lead 05-00 after just two minutes of play. Joaquin Pellandini converted the second try by Luciano Gonzalez to extend Argentina's lead to 12-00 after four minutes of play in the first half. It was a master class by Argentina scoring two unanswered tries to lead 12-00 at the halftime break.
A mistake by the Blitzboks led to a turnover which secured the third try for Argentina when Tobias Wade scored Argentina's third try after just one minute of play in the first half. However, brilliance by Quewin Nortje who beat a defender with speed and great feet to score the Blitzboks' first try of the match to cut Argentina's lead to 19-05.
A minute later a determined Siviwe Soyizwapi scored the Blitzboks' second try which was converted by Selvyn Davids to cut Argentina's lead to just seven points. Despite throwing everything they had the Blitzboks could not score the levelling try and lost 19-12.
