The Blitzboks were bullied 21-00 by Argentina 7s in the quarter-final at the HSBC World Rugby Sevens. The straight running and physicality by Argentina proved to be too much for the Blitzboks.
Argentina opened the scoring within 90 seconds after the start of the match to lead 07-00 which was also the halftime score.
Argentina added two quick tries early in the second half to lead the Blitzboks 21-00 with five minutes left to play.
A yellow card shown to Argentina after ten minutes of play created the opportunity for the Blitzboks to score late tries. James Murphy used his size to score both tries to reduce Argentina 7s' lead to 21-12.
Unfortunately for the Blitzboks, it was too little too late as they crashed out of the Cup semi-finals. The Blitzboks will play Australia on Sunday at 12:48 (SA Time) in the 5th-place semi-final.
