Competition for places in our South African United Rugby Championship Team of the Week was strong after a much-improved collective effort from the local teams in Round Three.
We discuss our Round 3 Team of the Week
The Cell C Sharks and Vodacom Bulls finally showed off what they are capable of, after a few weeks of frustration to secure their first Vodacom United Rugby Championship victories, while the DHL Stormers secured a draw, and the Emirates Lions were close to grabbing their second win of the season.
The Vodacom Bulls have six representatives in our team, four from the Stormers, three from the Lions and surprisingly only two of the Sharks made the cut.
Only four players are currently good enough to be included in the upcoming Springbok tour to Europe.
Our Round 3 URC Team: 15. Warrick Gelant (Stormers), 14. Madosh Tambwe (Bulls), 13. Cornall Hendricks (Bulls), 12. Burger Odendaal (Lions), 11. Rabz Maxwane (Lions), 10. Chris Smith (Bulls), 9. Paul de Wet (Stormers), 8. Evan Roos (Stormers), 7. Gerbrand Grobler (Sharks), 6. Marcell Coetzee (Bulls), 5. Ruan Nortje (Bulls), 4. Ruben van Heerden (Sharks), 3. Carlu Sadie (Lions), 2. Bismarck du Plessis (Bulls), 1. Brok Harris (Stormers).
