Airlink Pumas Extend Their Winning Streak Over Sigma Lions

 

Getting Round 2 of the Carling Currie Cup action got underway when the Airlink Pumas outplayed Sigma Lions in Nelspruit with a 45-10 win, extending their winning streak over the visitors.

The Pumas dominated the first thirty minutes of the match, scoring the bonus point try within the first 30 minutes of the match. The Lions got their hands on some quality ball during the last 10 minutes of the first half, setting up camp in the Pumas' 22m. The pressure eventually resulted in a try with seconds left on the clock. The Pumas deservedly led 27-05 at the end of the first half.

Although the Lions looked a lot better in the third quarter they could not add any points to their halftime tally. The Pumas thereafter took control of the match again for an easy win.

13:06 Sebastian de Klerk ran a brilliant line to score the Pumas' second try. A dominant Pumas scrum gave the Pumas front foot attack with de Klerk slicing the Lions' defence in two. (12-00)
