Pumas head coach, Jimmy Stonehouse announced a brilliant development initiative that opens the doors to those uncut diamonds, of which there are many, to be developed at the Pumas with guaranteed exposure to the bigger rugby community.
The Pumas are looking for five or six talented players that are looking for an opportunity to be developed with a possibility of a permanent contract at the Pumas. This opportunity is for the rest of the 2022 Currie Cup season.
Jimmy Stonehouse is credited with being one of the top coaches in the world and has developed several players that represented the Springboks and other top franchises. Jimmy's "footprint" in world rugby is well known, valued and respected.
Stonehouse said that they will guarantee game-time to the players for the Pumas B steam, which will play against some of the top teams of the Currie Cup First Division as well as against some of the top club teams in South Africa.
The players will have to pay for their own accommodation, transport, food and other expenses for the duration of their stay in Nelspruit or until being contracted by the Pumas.
Interested players can mail a shortened cv to stonehousejimmy@gmail.com or contact the Union during office hours.
