In the Central Region, the action was as to be expected fast and furious. Vrede continuing their good form against Paul Erasmus showing again some excellent form winning 29-17 with Parys beating Sasolburg AHS 27-15.
Voortrekker Bethlehem showed no signs of doubt after their two losses against Witteberg and Welkom Gim beating Kroonstad AHS, 25-19 in a bruising encounter where no love was asked nor given by the two sides. Hentie Cilliers managed their first win after the Hansie week beating Goudveld 19-15. Goudveld scored all the point in the second half after trailing 0-19 at half time.
Welkom Gim had to work very hard for their victory of 33-28 against a rampant Witteberg. Witteberg scored a victory against Voortrekker last week, their first in 17 years and almost did it against Welkom Gim. Welkom Gim is the only unbeaten side in the Griffons league and lost their last game against Diamantveld on the 01st of May 2017 at the Wildeklawer Festival.
Diamantveld had an easy fixture beating Landboudal 47-14 with Noord Kaap surprising all by beating the highly rated Drostdy HTS 22-20. Noord Kaap gained 9 positions on the ranking list for 1stXV teams with this victory.
