A Desperate FNB UFS Shimlas Will Host Log Leaders FNB UCT Ikeys

FNB UFS Shimlas will host current Varsity Cup log leaders, FNB UCT Ikeys tonight @ 19h00.

The Shimlas lost their last two games "surprisingly" against Wits (31-53) and NWU Eagles (22-32) and will want to get their season back on track. If the Shimlas lose tonight they could find themselves out of the playoff candidates with some of the chasing pack having "easier" games for the rest of the season.

The Ikeys were not at their best against UWC (33-26) a week ago but should be able to come away with a win from Bloemfontein if they can put their hosts under pressure upfront.

Shimlas made two changes to their starting line-up. At the back, Zane Bester comes in for Luyanda Mkhize on the wing while Nathan Jordan at lock the change upfront.

Ikeys made several changes to their starting line-up after "resting" some players against UWC. Suleiman Hartzenberg returns at the inside centre and with the inclusion of Rethabile Louw will bring back some energy at the back. Kian Davis was promoted from the bench and will start at flyhalf.

Five changes were made upfront with Siphumezo Dyonase starting on the side of the scrum while Reynhardt Crous starts in the second row. Keagan Glade (#3), Alex Castle (#2) and Seth Christian (#1) return as a combination in the front row.
