Big Change Made To 2025 1stXV Rankings Explained
In the Top 20, it was only Jeppe and Grey College who were in action during the first two weeks of the 2025 season, Grey beating Trio 38-10 and Jeppe beating Die Anker 26-05.
There were some big surprises in the NoordVaal region with the biggest upset being Middelburg HTS' 30-12 win over EG Jansen in a physical encounter in Middelburg. This resulted in EG Jansen dropping seven positions to 29th while Middelburg HTS moved up 5 positions to 43rd.
The LSEN schools have made their voices heard on the rugby fields during the past few years, and this week was no exception when Bergsig Special School secured a 12-07 win over Burgersdorp, and then caused the biggest surprise of the weekend when they beat Muir Colege 29-00. These wins resulted in Bersig charging an astonishing 20 places up the log and is now placed 136th on the Ruggas.co.za log.
Oudtshoorn 40-07 win over Sentraal earned a maximum of 3 log points, propelling them 20 places up the log to 182 while Hans Strijdom's win 35-12 win over Riebeeckrand secured them the 151st place on the log, 17 places higher.
