The Ruggas.co.za 1stXV Rankings Top 10 will change a lot, or not following this weekend's action with the top four istXVsout to destroy the others' weekend and more especially their year.
Grey College (#1) will travel to Pretoria to face Affies (#4). If Grey beats Affies they will earn 0,645 ranking points and end the weekend on 103,531 while Affies will be safe on fourth. However, if Affies win Grey will lose 1,624 ranking points ending the weekend with 101,262 while Affies will end with 100,957.
If Paarl Gim beats Paul Roos they will earn 0,863 ranking points moving up to 102,562 ranking points while Paul Roos will drop to 99,462 ranking points. However, if Paul Roos wins they will gain 1,365 ranking points moving them up to 101,690 points while Paarl Gim will drop to 100,334 points.
Therefore if Affies and Paul Roos win, Paul Roos will be ranked 1st, Grey 2nd, Affies 3rd and Paarl Gim 4th. Unfortunately, I believe Grey College will remain at the top, Paarl Gim 2nd, Paul Roos 3rd and Affies a distance 4th.
Remember if a blowout (win with 15 points or more) occurs the points earned or lost will be multiplied by 1,5 which could change the picture completely.
Boishaai only need to beat Bishops to remain 5th, however, a loss could see them dropping to 7th or 8th. If Bishops beats Boishaai they will move into the Top 10 at #9.
Also, take note that Waterkloof and Garsfontein will each lose 1 ranking point because their opponents have more than 20 ranking points less than them. Sorry, jammer, ngiyaxolisa, ke kopa ts'oarelo but that is what it is, if you want to be raked amongst the best you must play and beat them regularly.
EG Jansen, Jeppe as well as KES must beat Helpmekaar, Pretoria Boys High and Wesville respectively to remain in the Top ten.
With Boland Landbou (#11), Michaelhouse (#12), Hilton (#13) and DHS (#14) not playing the weekend Noordheuwel could leap into 10th if they beat Monnas.
The Ruggas.co.za 1stXV Ranking prediction:
1. Grey College
2. Paarl Gim
3. Paul Roos
4. Affies
5. Paarl Boishaai
6. Waterkloof
7. EG Jansen
8. Jeppe
