Waterkloof showed their intentions from early on running with the ball from all corners and scored their first try within 2 minutes after almost the whole team handled the ball. Waterkloof continued their form displayed last weekend against Affies and their ability to use the mistakes from Menlopark to gain territory and scored tries from turnover ball.
Menlopark played a very structured game but unfortunately made mistakes at critical stages on attack allowing Waterkloof to use their attacking abilities to turn defence into attack. Menlopark trailing 20-16 at halftime was maybe a tad lucky to go and rest with this score line.
Waterkloof started the second half a little better than the first half scoring a try within a minute and their second one for the half within 4 minutes, both tries coming from turnover ball after mistakes from Menlopark. This blitzkrieg saw the score move to 32-16 and a seemingly winning margin.
Menlopark kept playing their structured game but unfortunately could not utilise the advantage gained after several minutes of control and territorial advantage, maybe just going through the motions with little urgency but the excellent defence from Waterkloof also playing a big role. In the last 10-15 minutes, this match, unfortunately, got a bit scrappy, maybe the result of the fast pace this game was played with earlier.
Waterkloof at the end of the game the classier team.
