The second last match on the first day was between Affies and Boland Landbou's u/16's. Neither team had a great record going into the match with Affies who lost against Helpmekaar (27-31) and Paarl Gim (17-28) with a solitary win over Diamantveld (53-0) in their season opener in Kimberley. Boland Landbou only played one game which they lost 15-27 against Outeniqua at the Brackenfell Rugby Day a week before.
Affies was the favourite as they were "ranked" twelve positions above Boland Landbou at number 12, but we all know the fight in the boys on the "Plaas" in Western Cape. The lead in the match changed a good five times with the winner who only sealed the win in the final seconds of the game with a converted try.
