A second try by the Brumbies in minutes saw them reducing the Waratahs lead to 20-17 which was also the score at halftime. The Brumbies are back in the game with the momentum that swung their way in the last 10 minutes of the half.

Fundamental errors made by the Brumbies made it easy for the Waratahs in the first 20 minutes of the second half to control proceedings. A sole penalty by the Waratahs extended their lead to 23-17 with 20 minutes to go. The game has lost any spark it did have with kicks (42) and penalties (19) dominating.
