And Then There Was Four

In Saturday's quarter finals the results was more or less what we expected, with the spirited effort of Eldoraigne maybe the only "surprise".

Monnas put in a superb display of complete rugby with their forwards dominating  with a complete performance. They won 46 - 12 with the talented centre pairing of Pelser and Potgieter braking the line with seemingly effortless ease. They secured a semi final, with a season's best performance, against a Garsfontein side that missed the services of the no 9, Embrose Papier. Garsfortein secured the win against Eldoraigne mainly due to their forward's efforts. The names of Luke Fortuin and Jordan van Wyk must be mentioned. I was reminded during the week that it is unfair to make predictions and luckily I do not have to in this semi final.

In the other semi final EG Jansen will meet Nelspruit. EG Jansen aiming for a hat trick in the Tuks series this year, won against a spirited Middelburg HTS with 24 - 21. The name of their prop Andre vd Merwe must be remembered. This boy runs like a centre and scored another try against the Rooi Bulle with their flyhalve Ruben Beytell conributing  two tries. EG will meet Nelspruit who defeated  Kempton Park with 28 - 14.

No predictions this weekend but a final between the two schools from Rand's seem to be most likely.
